This invasive species has emerged as a major environmental and economic concern as populations have exploded. Not only do they destroy crops\, disrupt natural habitats\, and prey on native species\, they also can harbor and transmit disease. They exist across North America with a population estimated at over six million. They are capable of thriving in any environment from Canada to the Yucatan Peninsula\, as well as a myriad of Caribbean islands and 35 states in the USA.
