Invasive species prevention and management is a non-partisan issue that impacts our way of life: agriculture, biodiversity, commerce, environmental protection, forestry, natural resources, outdoor recreation, tourism, and water. The NAISMA Government Relations Program participates in strategic partnerships, educates and informs, and advocates for the invasive species management community.

National Invasive Species Awareness Week (NISAW) is an international event to raise awareness about invasive species, the threat that they pose, and what can be done to prevent their spread. NISAW provides a platform for individuals from local, state, federal, tribal agencies, regional organizations, private industry, and citizens to discuss legislation, policies, resources, and improvements that can be made to prevent and manage invasive species with elected officials and decision-makers.
 

NISAW Is scheduled for February 24 – 28, 2025. NAISMA is planning an in-person experience in Washington D.C. and a free webinar series. The theme is Enhancing Biosecurity to Protect Against Invasive Species.
