Several invasive pests, diseases, and plants expanded their boundaries this month.
Here’s how PlayCleanGo leveraged the reach of our invasive species prevention partners and the power of the message, “Stop Invasive Species in Your Tracks.”
Through proper surveying techniques, outreach, and community support, northwest Michigan’s special hemlock trees remain safe for another season.
Boot brushes help prevent invasive species from spreading. Most important, we needed to design a sign that would get hikers to read it, and then use the boot brushes.
Does the simple act of swiping your feet in one of these boot brushes actually accomplish anything? And if installed, will people actually use them? A research project gets to the bottom of boot brush stations.
